Planning Your Mission

These are the steps we take to ensure that the operation is legal, safe to those on the ground and safe to those in the air as required by the CAA. These same rules apply to unmanned aircraft as apply to a Boeing 747
  1. 1. Contact Sky-Sight Aerial
Using the contact form, let us know the location of the operation either by post code or by 6 figure grid reference. We will need to have a brief description of the objectives of the mission. eg. The subject or area to be captured, surveyed or inspected, an idea of your requirements and your preferred dates for the task.
  2. 2. What Happens Next?
On receiving your brief we will carry out a remote survey of the area using the maps, charts and electronic information available to us. We will check the type of airspace, the terrain, hazards, restricted areas, danger areas, no fly zones, populated areas, other likely air users, access, congested areas and whether the operation can be safely executed.
  3. 3. If The Operation is Go.
Sky-Site Aerial Perspective will contact you to discuss your requirements and expectations in more detail. Once we are happy that we fully understand what is required we will be able to give you a firm quotation to carry out the operation. If you are happy with the terms we will arrange an ideal date and time plus an alternative to allow for poor weather.
  4. 4. Preparation.
Once we have agreed terms and a preferred date for the task the preparation will begin. We will need to inform local services, get permission from the land Owner and, if necessary, ATC. We will plan the mission in detail. Thought will be given to the number of staff, equipment required and access. Weather forecast will be monitored daily .
  5. 5. On The Day of the Task.
After a final weather check we will decide if the operation can go ahead as planned. If it's go we will check and load all equipment and confirm the time of arrival with the client. Finally, before we travel, we will double check all the information we have gathered to establish that it is still current and no last minute changes have been made.
  6. 6. On Site.
Prior to commencing the operation we will carry out a site survey to establish that the information we have gathered is current and no physical changes have been made. After cordoning the area, selecting a take-off position, final checks for weather and equipment, briefing personnel and any public. We will carry out the operation if safe to do so.

7. During the Flight.

After take-off and once the in-flight checks are complete you will be able to follow the mission and help direct operations if you wish. All of our client are supplied withe their own HD monitor which receives live images directly from the two on board cameras in 'real time'. This allows our clients to instruct and advise the pilot on his preferred content and video sequences.
Our ground station has a separate transmitter for gimbal control which some of our customers have used and captured their own shots whilst the pilot controls the aircraft.

After every flight we will review the footage to ensure we meeting the expectation of our customers, both in quality and content.
